Paul Diamond
Real name: Tom Boric
Not the original Paul Diamond from the 60s, but his look-alike from the 80s
and 90s who held the AWA world tag team title with Pat Tanaka. Diamond was
born in Croatia and grew up in Winnipeg. Played pro soccer with the Tampa
Bay Rowdies before going full-time into wrestling.
Wrestled in San Antonio in a tag team called the American Breed with
Nick Kiniski. Kiniski was replaced by a young local kid named Shawn Michaels.
First teamed up with Tanaka in Memphis in 1986. They defeated Michaels and
Marty Jannetty for the AWA world tag title in 1988 and held the belts for
just over a year. Diamond and Tanaka wrestled in the WWF as the Orient
Express, with Diamond as the masked Kato. He later wrestled as Max Moon.
