] It concerns trust, respect for others, willingness to accept responsibility, performing to your highest standards, and other core personal values and principles.
More employers are making an effort to uncover the work values of the people they interview. They're focusing on their own values too -- values statements, mission statements, and an emphasis on corporate cultures have become common at businesses around the world.
No matter how skilled you are, if your work values are "I want to do as little as possible and get paid as much as I can for it" or even "I'll just do what I'm told" (which was widely considered to be a positive attitude in workers not very long ago), you're going to have an increasingly hard time finding work in the foreseeable future.
The interview is a demonstration
The interview itself is a test and demonstration of your communication and interpersonal skills. The kind of person you are will often be revealed as much by how you handle yourself in the interview as by the words you speak.
