UpTown WaterlooIf downtown Kitchener is "downtown" (even to Waterloo residents), then what is downtown Waterloo? I don't know who came up with the term "UpTown Waterloo" but it was a clever idea. Most of this tour is within the UpTown area. It includes everything between Bridgeport and William Streets, from Caroline to Regina, but the core area is King Street from William to Bridgeport. On the east side of King Street between William and Erb is a diverse collection of retail stores and offices. Janet Lynn's Bistro (92 King Street South pictured at right) is probably the most highly regarded restaurant in the entire region. The $7.4 million Uptown Parkade and the retail/commercial building to its south across Willis Way were both constructed in the mid 1990s.
The next stop on the tour is right across King Street -- our downtown mall,
Waterloo Town Square.
